I Am Dying
Posted by: | CommentsWe have been working through the book of Ecclesiastes at New City. It has been a great book to study through and I have been challenged on many levels. This past week Keith preached through Ecclesiastes 9 and really focused the message on living, dying, and not wasting it all. This is a theme that I think on more often than not. There is not a week that goes by that I do not consider my time and the spending of it. I am constantly asking, ‘are you wasting it?’ Read More→
AMBITION: To Preach The Gospel Where Christ Is Not Known
Posted by: | Comments
The theme of the recent Acts 29 Boot Camp in Louisville, Kentucky, hosted by Sojourn Community Church, was ambition. Simply knowing how to plant and lead a church is not enough. Knowledge must come hand-in-hand with God-given ambition. Read More→
Burning Vapor Said a Different Way
Posted by: | CommentsI have been working on some posts to update everyone on the most recent events of our lives, and I’m almost ready to begin posting again. One of the things that has been burning inside me is the thought of challenging and encouraging others to live their lives as a burning vapor. This video is a great snapshot into that.

The Peasant Princess

For those of you who keep up to date with the messages from Mars Hill, this will not be new news for you. However, I have not had the opportunity to listen to this series and it is getting a ton of attention in the press (CNN/ABC) and even an unfair critique by a bunch of religious people (Baptist Press). So I figured I should run on over and check out the controversy. If you are like me and have been living a chaotic life and have not had the opportunity to check ‘The Peasant Princess’ – then I invite you to do so. Click Me!
Stop Going to Church – Jesus the Head, We His Body

I had the incredible opportunity to preach at New City. It was a lot of fun for my first message . I had a tremendous amount of things going on during my prep week (Board of Directors meeting, our stuff arrived on Saturday, I didn’t have any study resources until late Saturday night, etc, etc.) and I didn’t allow myself a proper amount of time to really soak in the passage. I saw the direct results and made several mistakes hermeneutically and homiletically. I understand the great importance of studying a text, but this time I saw my great need to soak in a passage, to allow it to grip me and have it’s way in my heart and mind. Lesson learned. You can listen to it here.
