Emma’s Choir

Emma is a natural when it comes to singing and performing. She loves to be on stage and does a fantastic job. We were able to enjoy her in singing in her school choir. As always Emma performed brilliantly and is learning to control herself.
A Time For Everything
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; time to break down, and a time to [...]
I Am Dying

We have been working through the book of Ecclesiastes at New City. It has been a great book to study through and I have been challenged on many levels. This past week Keith preached through Ecclesiastes 9 and really focused the message on living, dying, and not wasting it all. This is a theme that [...]
Political Professionalism at it’s Best!
Uh…wow. I don’t have to say much here – the video says it all. But I must say two things: 1. And you people voted for her?? 2. If I was a criminal I know where I would be hitting! And may God bless you all…
Preach the Word – Don’t be Distracted by Starving Kids
I once heard someone say that adoption and orphan care should not be one of the primary ministries of the church. I’m not sure what Bible they were reading, but it sounds like a bunch of BS to me….I’m just saying…
I Gotta Fever!
It’s Friday ….Laugh!
Orphan Sunday: November 8th
Orphan Sunday Church, do not hinder the Gospel by hiding behind your white ivory tower of theology. The Gospel is the redeeming work of Jesus offered to you, me and the orphan. Now that you have been rescued by it, do you really think Jesus approves of your doctrinal stroking and programmatic cleverness? Really? November [...]
4.8

I am often asked why I adopted internationally when we have so many children right here in the US that need to be adopted. Maybe that has been one of your questions as well. My answer is usually pretty simple. Because ‘Foster Children’ do not starve to death. A lengthier conversation would reveal that I [...]
Just About Sums it Up
God is Great, Beer is Good, and People are Crazy
Saved Alone. What Shall I Do?
In Christ Alone is one of my favorite songs. I loved the song before I heard the story behind it, but the story has only endeared me to the music and to the man behind the music. People often say that when their lives get overwhelming, they often think of the McConnell’s. When my life [...]
Cry No More!
The vast majority of my readers probably never listen to rap as a matter of taste. My music is fairly eclectic so it ranges from R&B to Classic Rock and most everything in between – it really depends on my mood. Cross Movement is a ‘Christian Rap’ group that has a great sound and solid [...]
Matt Chandler: Advice to Young Preachers
I’ve never really listened to Matt Chandler, but I have heard great things about his preaching and his ministry. Here is a clip that I stumbled across that at least gives me a snapshot into his heart for preaching and preachers, and I appreciate his heart and words. Take a listen and meet another great [...]
The Peasant Princess
For those of you who keep up to date with the messages from Mars Hill, this will not be new news for you. However, I have not had the opportunity to listen to this series and it is getting a ton of attention in the press (CNN/ABC) and even an unfair critique by a bunch [...]
Naming Names

If we miss the cross, then we have missed everything. I recently called out Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen as quacks and kooks. There were a handful of people who questioned why I thought that, so I wanted to post a couple of links to visit. Osteen -Interview with Larry King on the Gospel and [...]
A Dose of Realtiy
When people ask what I do, and I have the opportunity to tell them that I work with orphans in Ethiopia and Uganda, curiosity and amazement are always on their faces. We usually have nice little chats about the work, and then almost without fail people ask the same question. “I’ve always seen those videos [...]
Stuff Happens
I watched this pretty cool video today. You can check out the teaser below or watch the full video here.
Awake O’Sleeper
A friend of mine from GA has a friend who made this video. Not only is the video extremely cool, but the music is AWESOME! It’s got a Southern-rock feel to it which is my music of choice. So with that said…Awake O’Sleeper.
