A few weeks ago all of the kids headed back to school. Last year we homeschooled Emma and Makayla and this year we entered them back into Public School. They are both a part of a “Choice” school that focuses more on hands on learning. We have been on the waiting list for a couple of years so their acceptance into the program was very exciting.
Bri and Ana returned to their Pre-school and they were both very excited about that. Bri goes 4x a week for a few hours and Ana goes 2x a week for a couple of hours. This is a great opportunity for some one on one special training and socialization.
Josiah, Noah and Caleb had a hard week and a half when they entered school. They first day was great (honeymoon period) and then the bottom fell out. If you put yourself in their shoes they are expected to sit in a classroom listening to someone speak for hours on end in a foreign language – tough stuff. Noah and Caleb are loving it now and have really excelled in math. English is coming slowly but surely. We actually have a college student lined up to begin tutoring Josiah in math because he has little to no education.
All in all, they are loving school and transitioning very well.
What school are they going to? We might have gone to the same one!
Let’s see – the boys are going to Orchard Center, the older girls are going to the Summit, and the younger girls are going to Millwood. Did you attend any of those? I thought you were a tried and true Oaks kid.
